Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely. We train every interpreter that joins our network. Our training covers essential preparation on handling different situations, dealing with cultural barriers, following protocols, and more. Our training will give you confidence and preparation for the situations you will encounter so that you can help us uphold our customer service promise. Whether you sub-contract with us forever or just for a time, we want to train you to be the best interpreter you can be.

Not necessarily. We are a language services agency, meaning our interpreters and translators are sub-contractors rather than employees. You are free to work for as many agencies as you wish. We offer a high level of flexibility, and once you’re on our call list, it is always up to you whether you accept or turn down a specific job.

After you’ve completed our training, you’ll be added to our call list for the language(s) you work in. We do our best to match you to the jobs that fit you best, both in terms of language and personality/experience. When we have a job that fits you, we’ll send you a text or give you a call and you can accept or turn it down. We don’t ask that you take every job; we just ask that you remain committed to the jobs you agree to take.

We pay our sub-contractors primarily via PayPal, though Zelle is also an option.

You don’t necessarily have to have prior interpreting or translating experience. But you do need to be fluent in a language other than English and have very strong English. You need to have a high level of proficiency in language skills, meaning you can switch back and forth quickly and understand the nuances of the languages you speak. Beyond that, we’ll train you for the specifics of the job whether you have lots of experience or are just starting out.

We are members of the American Translators Association, the Mid-America Chapter of the American Translators Association, and the National Association of Judicial Interpreters and Translators.
